This mobile activation visits towns home to Google data centres, inviting local communities to discover the positive impacts data centres have on the community and to learn about Google’s long-term sustainability mission.
Colour-coded paths inspired by data centre water pipes, connect information that is mapped across the physical space and guide visitors throughout the journey.
paths contain questions that spark curiosity in visitors and connect the narrative
Visitors are welcomed into an immersive infinity mirror room, featuring glowing paths that create a grid of light. The endless glowing grid turns the room into an artistic interpretation of a Google data centre.
Upon stepping into the middle of the room, visitors trigger an audio narration, inspiring them to discover the information that lies ahead.
The connecting physical paths are connected to screens that host content. These content sections are triggered by data centre-inspired physical buttons, therefore continuing the narrative about interacting with data centres.
Screen content is presented through animations of data paths, making a playful yet consistent journey from the physical side of the experience into the virtual one.
This key aspect of the experience manifested in having all messaging in the local language and in providing content around the local data centre & the community.
Given the exhibit's mobility, traveling from town to town, ease of assembly and adaptability to various spaces are crucial. To achieve this, we employ modular walls that can be easily configured to fit the designated areas in each location. The use of sustainable yet durable materials like plywood and aluminum ensures the exhibit's structure aligns with its environmental messaging, offering a consistent experience across all towns.
